2. Anglesey
House
Anglesey House was the
premier residence of Rhosneigr in the Victorian era, commanding a majestic
position in front of the (then) village green leading to the sea. Since
then the focus of the village has moved to the war memorial clock tower and
there are now houses between Anglesey House and the sea. However, there is
no doubting the historic value of the property as the only true Victorian
house in the village.
Having been a luxury
dwelling the house has been through many phases, including one as a
residential home, and is now restored to a luxurious holiday dwelling.
On the top (third) floor
there are two sea facing double rooms (pic 4) with great views (pic 8), a
bathroom (pic 2) and two twin bedrooms with mountain views over Snowdonia.
On the middle (second)
floor there are a further three double rooms and two spacious rooms
containing 3 full size bunks in each (ie
these sleep 12 in total) as well as a family bathroom (pic 7). Beds in
total for 26 people – baby cots on top!
On the ground floor the
front door leads to a Victorian vestibule, however, as most people enter
through the back door we have created a modern boot room with racks,
shelves and benches to remove all outdoor clobber and store it in organized
spaces. This leads to the kitchen/breakfast bar/dining area (pic 1) with
double oven, dishwasher, 2 sinks, fridge/freezer/distilled water dispenser
and all amenities you need. The dining area has a massive 8’ x 4’ dining
table (pics 5 & 9) suitable for kids teas, adult dining and party
games.
Also on the ground floor
is the lounge (pic 3), a toilet (pic 6), a power shower room, and a kids
playroom (tv, xbox 360, karaoke, dvd and numerous games).
Outside there is a
spacious walled rear garden area divided between a grass play area and a
tarmac courtyard which is ideal for all adult and child needs (there is a
large gas barbecue, drying lines for wet suits, tap and hose for mucky kids
and equipment and goal posts, swingball etc for playtime).
The house is rented out
for £2,500 per week but tends to be booked annually by the same families on
repeat business. Our customers tend to be groups of 3 or 4 families or
extended families marking special celebrations.
